Notes and background for Hannei Kugutsu up to this point-

Hannei Kugutsu was found by Goro Akechi two years ago on may 15th. She had no memories besides her name, and claimed to be a human distorted by mementos. After striking a deal with akechi where she’d help him in any way she could in return to him helping her investigate what happened, the two have been partners in crime.

It didn’t hurt that soon after this deal was made she remembered her persona Fenrir, weird how he is silent but it’s probably just that distortion at play!

Hannei very heavily mirrors people, and for better or for worse those she spends more time with are whos tendencies and habits that stick to her. And spending nearly all her time with Goro Akechi would work out as well as you’d think.

After an incident where she internalized just how cruel and unfair the world is, she awoke to Fenrir’s full power. At least he’s talking now.

Akechi also ordered her not to kill any of his targets for him. She’s taken this to mean she isn’t allowed to kill anyones shadows. She has no complaints other than wishing she could do more.

She is more than happy to help when Akechi sets up a deal with Wakaba Ishiki, she stays with her in her lab and helps with her metaverse study in exchange for a place to stay. Wakaba sparks some curiosity in her, as well as ideas about family and what that means to her. She’s taken to calling Akechi her cousin now, and even he can’t get her to drop it. Wakaba is fun! She teaches her so many things, and she’s told her she’s a perfectly healthy human! So she must be a human being! She knew it!

But inevitably Shido orders a hit on Wakaba. And Akechi is distressed. But hannei promised to do whatever she could to help him.
So she asks him what she can do.
Despite their best efforts. Akechi can’t stall forever. The hit goes through. But wakaba’s shadow tells the two of a complete copy of her research notes on the metaverse she’s hidden on a usb. Says it’s for them. Hannei is told to retrieve it which she does.
It’s on the way back to where she and Akechi agreed to meet that she realizes she won’t be returning to that little space she could call her own anymore. It’s the first time she cries, and she remembers grief. The world is a cruel and unfair place isn’t it?

She doesn’t mind sleeping in mementos, but Akechi is still a mess, and she swears to find a way to help him. So she digs into wakaba’s research, and discovers her theories on palaces and their power sources. She gets a hunch. What would happen if they stole that power source?

The next time the duo explore a palace, they learn how to change hearts.

She must have done well because Akechi is excited over this new tool he can use. She helped him! And she can steal hearths all on her own if needed. She’s useful!

It’s not long after this that Akechi tells her he found her a new place to stay. Apparently Muhen from the jazz club Akechi likes has agreed to house her in an apartment he owns above the place, as long as she promises to help out around the club. She’s eager to agree. And she didn’t realize how much she enjoyed having her own space again until she had it back.

Akechi has emphasized to hannei that she’s not allowed anywhere near Shido, he can’t know about her. She does whatever Akechi says so she agrees easily. She’s learned how to hide and blend in thanks to akechi. And she’s learning how to craft a friendly persona mask from him too.
She gets better every day.

(This is going to be more bullet points because I’m still working out the details) as the duo continue to figure out what they can do with a change of heart, Akechi is picky on security so decides they need a way to send and remove calling cards without it being traced to them. He knows Shido is aware of cognitive pscience. And he wants him unaware of any changes of heart for as long as possible. So they use this tool sparingly, and decide to recruit a hacker.

By some twist of fate they find Alibaba. And after convincing them of their deeds, agrees to partner with them if they fulfill a request for them. Change Futaba Sakura’s heart.

They do, but it’s a bit more emotionally heavy for Akechi and Hannei than they anticipated. But by the end Futaba has partly awakened to a persona and the palace is cleared. Futaba is upset about being banned from infiltrating the metaverse with them by Akechi, but she becomes their hacker.
Hannei likes her, she shows her more cartoons and anime and teaches her memes.

The team are effective, and hannei isnt even that upset that the investigation into her has stalled due to akechi’s efforts to undermine Shido and his own involvement in the conspiracy.

By the time April of the game rolls around, hannei has perfected her pleasant and curious little girl mask. She’s got a new method to try and regain some of her lost memories, shes going to get stories from other people. Learn about their lives to try and spark memories of her own. She’s convinced this will work, and Akechi doesn’t stop her.

Other notes-
Hannei’s birthday is May 15th, mostly decided since hannei doesn’t remember her actual birthday so the day Akechi found her was chosen. She’s 16 when the game starts but turns 17 before it ends (though for the sake of this rp guess she’s 16)

By this point hannei is aware of some of her quirks like mirroring people and her eyes. But she doesn’t seem all too bothered to figure out why. It hasn’t hurt, and knowing peoples quirks helps her blend in and get stories out of them.

Despite Akechi’s best efforts those closer to him are aware of her being ‘his cousin’ she thinks it’s fun to tease him. He just makes it so easy!
It’s also fun to tease him about the detective prince thing. “I’m the cousin of the detective prince! How fun~”

Hannei isn’t nearly as pleasant or friendly as her mask makes her appear. By this time she doesn’t have much faith in humanity or society as a whole. Akechi and his few confidants are rare outliers in this shitty world. She hasn’t fond any reason to think otherwise (yet.)

She calls a bike she and Akechi use to traverse mementos the ‘Lokimobile’ she put Stickers on it correlating to their persona. Akechi will deny it but she knows he’s having fun.

She centers a lot of her identity around Goro Akechi, to the point where she isn’t exactly sure what would be left without him. She should probably work on that.

I’ll add more notes if needed but I think that’s that
